The announcement of best actor award for former union minister and veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao for his role in the film “Mestri” has shocked the fan club of upcoming hero Ramcharan Teja, son of megastar and Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi.
PRP cadres across the state have lodged protests over the Nandi awards committee’s decision to give the award to Dasari, while ignoring the talent of Ramcharan Teja in the film Magadheera. They are arguing that Dasari’s film was a mega flop, whereas Magadheera was a mega hit. “The committee has to take into consideration the people’s mandate as was evident from the way Magadheera has run in some theatres for over a year, whereas Mestri was rejected by the people.
